Floop is simple: you pick a username, we measure drops. We don't collect your name, email, phone number, or location. We don't sell data.
Floop uses your device's accelerometer to detect freefall and calculate drop distance.
On iOS, the app requests permission before accessing motion sensors via NSMotionUsageDescription.
On Android, the app uses the HIGH_SAMPLING_RATE_SENSORS permission for accurate detection.
Sensor data is processed entirely on your device. Only the calculated result (distance, fall time) is sent to our servers when you record a drop.
Drop measurements you record are posted to a public global leaderboard. This includes your username, drop distance, and fall time. Choose your username accordingly — it's public.
You can record drops anonymously by choosing a username that does not identify you.
Drop data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted in the United States. We retain drop records indefinitely to maintain leaderboard continuity.
We use minimal, privacy-respecting analytics to understand aggregate usage (e.g., total drops per day). We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or behavioral tracking.
Floop does not share data with third-party advertisers or data brokers. We use the following infrastructure providers who process data on our behalf:
Floop is rated 4+ (iOS) and Everyone (Android). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Since we don't collect personal information from anyone, this policy is satisfied by default.
Want your data deleted? Email us at hello@floop.polsia.app with your username and we'll delete all associated records within 30 days.
We'll update this page if anything changes. Since we collect minimal data, major changes are unlikely.
